Judicial candidate James Patrick Crawley issued the following statement yesterday afternoon:
Late last week, I temporarily suspended my campaign to evaluate its future after recognizing that I would not receive the endorsement of the Democratic Party at its slate-making session in August. Initially, I did not plan on running without the support of the Party. However, after giving it serious thought and after seeking advice from several respected members of the bar and bench, I have decided that I am moving forward with my campaign and that my name will be on the ballot next March. I believe I have much to offer as a candidate and I am at a point in my career where I am ready to make this step. Waiting until 2016 -- without any guarantees of what will happen then -- is not an acceptable option for me.
My nominating petitions will be circulated soon, and I will decide whether to run countywide or in the 10th judicial Subcircuit. More information about my campaign can be found at www.crawleyforjudge.org.
